Globally, more and more Lead and Zinc surface mines are being depleted, requiring companies to operate underground at much greater expense, reducing margins. IMP is unusual in that our deposit is in the form of veins at the surface, allowing us to mine using low cost surface extraction of high-metal-content ore, significantly improving our relative margins, and almost completely protecting us from extreme Lead and Zinc price drops.
When the lowest Lead and Zinc prices in the past 15 years are applied to our business model, IMP remains solidly profitable.
